I have owned many bluetooth headsets over the years so here is my opinion of the Plantronics M50 in comparison. First of all this headset can stream music or podcasts from your smart phone which none of my previous headsets could do. It also has built-in noise reduction to reduce or eliminate background noise like wind, rain, traffic or music. It has voice alerts that tell you the battery level, volume level, talk time and more. It has a special battery meter that will show up on your screen if you have an iPhone.

This headset syncs easily on my Samsung Gravity Touch or PS3 if you happen to play video games online. The sound quality is good for an average priced headset. I don’t have any problems with disconnects or voice transmission.

I have also owned other headsets that tend to want to move or feel like they are going to fall off.

I love the battery life on this headset and it will last me at least 8 hours of constant use. I usually stick with a Motorola headset because most of them also have good battery life. I have had many headsets that only last for about 4 hours and I didn’t like that at all. You can get a lot of use out of this headset without constantly recharging it.

This headset will come with a wall charger and it’s covered by a 1 year limited warranty. For the price I think this is one of the better headset options at the present time.
This is a cute BT headset that is very lightweight. It pairs very easily with Skype (as long as you have a BT adapter). The standby time is about 16 hr, and I’ve had a conversation lasting +5 hours straight on this thing with no problems. I’ve paired it with my computer and phone, and there have been no problems at all. The pairing is very easy.

One of the best features of the headset for me is that fact that it has a switch to turn off/on, and a voice will tell you when you’ve turned it off/on. This is waaaaay better than other BT where you have to double/triple press a button not knowing if you’ve turned it on or off.

I knocked off 1 star because the ear loop is made of thin plastic and it could very easily break. Once that loop breaks, there won’t be a way for me to keep it secure to my ear. There are NO additional ear buds that come with it. What you receive is what you get. The ear buds fit me fine, but others might not feel that way.

I received a Kindle Fire for Christmas and shortly after I bought a Samsung Android cellphone. I found that I preferred using a stylus when using texting and e-mail. I bought several less expensive styluses, a few of which the tip wore off after a month or so. I then found a stylus that was more expensive, pink and extended when using it, but when not it collapsed to a smaller size and had a string which on the end was a plug that plugged into the headset jack on both the Fire and cell. When I received it, I noticed that the rubber tip was a bit thinner than the cheaper styluses and within a couple of weeks the rubber tip came off completely.

An online “friend” suggested this stylus.

I noticed immediately that when I used it, the rubber tip, when pressed on the screens, it had a bit of a bounce,I likened to a tire on a bike. I ended up buying 3 more and since I am always losing them I had one in three areas I use regularly (similar to what I had done with the cheap original ones). I have used these for several months with no noticeable wear.

At $6.00, this stylus is the best of all the ones I have tried. As I said the tip is made with better apparently longer wearing material and can easily plugged into the headset port.

I would recommend this one and you will be replacing your styluses less often!
I ordered two of these styluses (stylii?) for myself and a co-worker after we received our new iPad2s for use in our marketing positions. I usually just use the stylus group arrayed on my hands but figured in writing or drawing applications a mechanical device might be useful.

These are inexpensive, solid tools that are easily picked up by the touchscreen sensors and that are very accurate in placement. I was surprised by the blunt rubber end, expecting a sharper point but realizing after first usage that “pointy” objects would not work. While smaller lengthwise than a pencil, the grip and finger spacing needed allow for very comfortable handling. The stylus even has an attachment piece that plugs into the iPad headphone jack for portability. Cool!

Don’t hesitate to buy this because of the low price – it’s probably the best iPad stylus value around.

I started looking at sound bars to replace my old Sony 5.1 system. I was tired of all the cables running everywhere and the space all that took up. It was also pretty complicated for my wife to figure out. I also was not very impressed with the sound for watching tv/movies. For music the 5.1 system was great. Now I do have to admit, movies on disc were great but those over the regular cable box were not.

I was scoping this out at Wal-Mart along with a few other options. I wasn’t planning on getting one this expensive but I’m glad I did. The sound is great and the features are awesome. Now with that said I have a Samsung TV and I can’t seem to get the audio sync thing to work. I can get the audio working with the TV remote and to power off together but not come on together. I’m sure some more time spent playing with it or calling tech support might yield a result but for now I just added the features of the original remote to my one for all remote.

Since it’s 2.1 and I can’t get the audio sync working anyway which requires HDMI,I have the optical audio hooked up. This is nice because it’s coming from the output on my TV to the sound bar. So If I’m watching OTA on the TV, I’ve got audio. If I’m watching the satellite, I’ve got Audio. If I’m watching a DVD, I’ve got audio. No switching inputs, always nice. Again with 2.1 the optical out from the TV is just fine.

I use the Bluetooth feature all the time to play music from my phone and my laptop. I love it. The wireless sub does a decent job and the whole system sounds pretty darn good. More then what I need. If you opt not to get this unit, at least get one with a sub, you’ll be a lot happier with the audio.

The Walmart unit was $299 plus tax. I was happy I found this unit from Tiger on Amazon with free shipping, no tax and a $249.99 price tag.
Many people seem to have problems turning the speaker on with the TV. I was able to figure this out in about 20 mins and figured I’d let everyone know what I did.

This is for Samsung TV’s as I can only speak for my Samsung TV.

I have the speaker hooked up via HDMI. I am using a different HDMI cable for audio as I’m not passing video through the sound bar.

In your TV settings under “system” / “Anynet+”,

When you turn the TV off the sound bar will stay on. But after 20mins it shuts itself down. When you turn the TV back on the sound bar will also turn back on. You will never have to turn the sound bar on again.

Also you can still change the volume with this setup.

Enjoy NEVER having to use the Sound bar remote again.

I’m not your typical user, I tend to be very particular about little details that not everyone will care about, so I’ll try to only talk about these things in attempt to avoid saying what’s already been said in other reviews.

The Evo 4G LTE is not technically a part of the HTC One series found on AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile, but it has all of the same internals (including the screen) of the HTC One X on AT&T. What this has that the One X doesn’t have, though, is an empty microSD slot along with the 16GB internal storage, a dedicated camera shutter button, and an officially unlockable bootloader.

Yep, the Evo 4G LTE’s bootloader is unlockable by the official HTCdev method, (made easy by the folk at XDA Forums.) No hacks or exploits. You do get a warning from HTC saying that unlocking may void the Warranty in some situations, but if you’re an advanced android user looking to put different versions of Android on this phone, this will likely not be a concern for you. For new users looking to get a phone that’s unlocked easily and reliably, you’ll want to check this one out. I have a modified version of the stock ROM that ships with this phone. It has tweaks such as remapping the functions of the physical capacitive buttons. (Replacing the “App Switcher” button with the traditional “Menu” function allows you to free up more screen space since the “three dot” software menu button won’t be on the screen anymore. Then, remap the “App Switcher” function to the Back button when long-pressed. I find this as an ideal setup on an unlocked LTE.) If you root your LTE, I’d also suggest downloading Android Commander for your computer so you can easily edit system-level files such as unwanted Apps. I’d give the EVO LTE 5/5 stars if I never unlocked the bootloader for custom ROMS — but now that I have, I’d rate this phone something like 7/5 stars if I could. It’s going beyond my expectations.

Elsewhere, I have to say I’m absolutely drooling over the screen on this phone. I’m a digital artist, so I’m very perceptive of screen color casts and things.

So when people say they think the Super AMOLED screens on Samsung devices still eke out the EVO LTE / One X in screen quality, I just can’t agree with them. Samsung’s AMOLEDs always have either a blue or green color cast (mostly thanks to usually having a pentile sub-pixel arrangement,) and the color, while vivid and “pops” with saturated colors, usually does so unnaturally. I’d rather take the neutral, natural, excellently calibrated IPS LCD screen of the EVO over an AMOLED any day. And when you look at this screen with all its size, brightness, and sharpness, it’s something you just can’t help but gawk at! I’m not really an iPhone user, but I have to admit, when the iPhone 4 first came out and I saw the Retina Display in person for the first time, I was awestruck at the quality and clarity of it. When I got the EVO LTE, I had the very same in-awe reaction, perhaps even more so when you take into account of the greater size and resolution. As David Pierce of The Verge said in his review of the phone, “More than once, I found myself just sort of staring at the Evo’s 4.7-inch display, for no particular reason.” I now understand where he’s coming from with that.

I’ve owned a first generation iPhone and two other HTC phones in the past. (T-Mobile G2 and Radar 4G.) During all that time, I’ve NEVER used them for watching video, TV shows, or movies, if only because of their smaller screen sizes and limited playback functionality. But the 4.7″ 720p screen here is absolutely a joy to watch video on, especially when you consider that it supports playback of HD .MKV files, and has expandable storage. Get MX Player from the Play store. It’s free and supports changing subtitle/audio. (Great for those of us who watch anime.) It’s a serious win.

I’ve been getting decent battery life. Some heavy usage will see me through the day with 30% or more left to recharge overnight. If I were more careful about disabling auto-sync and the wireless radios when not needing them, I’m sure it’d last even longer, but I’m really not complaining. I’ve begun using an energy-saver app that automatically shuts off certain functions/apps of the phone when idle for too long, or during certain parts of the day (like after midnight when you’re likely not to be using the phone as much anymore.) This helps out quite a bit since I don’t have to worry about manually shutting off these features to save power. The app will just turn them back on for me when I need them. I don’t need to get facebook and gmail updates throughout the night, so with the radios turned off, I’ve found being able to go for 2 days without recharging while maintaining same heavy usage. (Unplug on morning of day one, go through the night, plug in end of day 2.)

The black portions are a matte, semi-rubberized surface while the top cover is glossy plastic. As many have said in other reviews, what may appear to be scratches in the glossy front is actually a protective film which can be removed with the aid of a piece of tape or a fingernail. I ended up leaving the film on mine to protect its surface. There’s a silver power button which you use to turn the power pack on as well as four blue LEDs that indicate its charge capacity. There is also a switch to change the power output from 9V to 12V which I found particularly impressive since many of my camera battery chargers run on 12V. So in addition to charging my phone, I can use this to charge my camera batteries as well! Obviously everyone’s gear is different, so your individual mileage may vary, but it was definitely a pleasant surprise to find out that this item works with such a wide variety of my gear!

Along with the pack, you get an AC adapter to charge it from a wall outlet as well as a whole galaxy of various charging tips and adapters that should fit any phone or device you may have. With the amount of adapters they include, I would be seriously shocked if you had a device that didn’t work with it. In addition, compared to some of the older reviews, it seems that the included product literature and various information cards have gone through some revisions so they’re now extremely easy to follow and very well-written. The inclusion of a small card indicating the protective film on the front leads me to believe that Anker is a company that responds to customers concerns which I find very impressive.

I had the H710 before this, but my car was broken into and it was stolen. I immediately purchased the newest model of the same Motorola series – this H720 – and am thrilled with it.

First of all, this bluetooth does NOT stick INSIDE your ear. I can’t stand the bluetooths that do that. This unit has nothing to stick inside your ear. It is flat and lays flat against your ear. It is also loud and clear so you don’t have to worry that you’re giving up on sound.

As a matter of fact, sometimes it’s too loud and you can lower the volume easily. The sound is nice and clear, and there is no lag time – you don’t miss the first few seconds of the conversation – it picks up immediately.

The other thing that I really like about this unit is the flip open design for turning it on or off. You flip it open to turn it on, and flip it closed to turn it off. Simple. No guesswork involved. I love the simplicity of it.

This bluetooth has a GREAT battery life, both for talktime and standby.

Another improvement that I really like for this bluetooth over the H710 was that they changed that big round light ring, and replaced it with a small dot light. This way I don’t walk around looking like I’m a plugged in robot (as I am WEARING this and the H710 would blink as I walked around!). On the H720 there’s a little mini dot light which is enough for me to see if the unit is on or off, and is enough for me to see if it’s red (which means that it needs to be recharged). Great design improvement! I can look like a human and not like a blinking android.

And another nice feature is that it sounds a tone when the bluetooth battery is running low and needs to be recharged.

Once you use this bluetooth, you wont want to go back to any of the others on the market. I’m spoiled now and can’t imagine ever go back to using the others out there. This one is a keeper!

Bought it a month ago for use with 3 Blackberries (rotation). Ports are marked NA and A. Assume NA means non-Apple. Blackberry charged on NA. Didn’t charge on A. Why? The data pair (2 pins) are shorted in the NA port. Many phones (many Blackberries) want to see this configuration from a wall charge unit. So what do you if you want to charge 2 Blackberries at once? You buy USB charging cables. What’s a USB charging cable? It’s a USB cable with the 2 data pins shorted out.
Whether we’re talking 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0, there are still two kinds of cables. The ones that ship with phones are called Data cables. For wall chargers, you’re better off with an honest to goodness charging cable. All the cables I’ve collected over the years came with phones. So they’re all data cables. Data cables don’t have the data pair shorted out. Charging cables do.

After figuring this out, I dragged out a bunch of old wall chargers that I couldn’t get to work with my Blackberries over the years. With the charging cables they all work.
Looking around the internet reviews, it looks like an awful lot of people don’t understand this distinction. As far as I can tell, any wall charger will work with any phone or tablet as long as the Amp (wattage) requirement is met. No mystery. You’d think all the folks that make USB wall chargers would short out the data pair to avoid all those negative comments on the internet about their charger not working with this or that. Since the Apple port (A) isn’t shorted, assume that Apple doesn’t like to see the data pair shorted. Why? It’s a wall charger. No data ever.
Full disclosure: The seller offered me a PowerGen Dual Port Travel Charger to test and review.

My wife and I travel occasionally, when the travel charger will really come in handy, for two reasons: 1. We’ve lost a couple of AC chargers by forgetting to take them from a hotel room when we left; and 2. Many hotel rooms don’t have enough electrical outlets for all the electrical devices that we carry with us, so having a dual port charger reduces the need for electrical outlets.

The charger has a small blue light that lights up when it’s plugged in. It’s not bright enough to be distracting, but it shows that the charger is operating, AND it should attract enough attention that we won’t forget to remove it from an outlet before leaving a hotel.

I used the charger on several electronic devices, and it worked fine with all of them. I did not attempt to measure the recharging times, but they appeared to be comparable to the recharging times when using the dedicated AC rechargers that came with the devices. The devices that I tested with the charger were:

* Kindle 3 (also known as a Kindle Keyboard) – 5V ~ 0.85A

* Kindle Fire – 5V ~ 1.8A

* iPhone 4 – 5V ~ 1.0A

* Samsung Stratosphere cellphone – 5V ~ 1.0A

With each device, I checked periodically during recharging, and both the recharger and the device remained cool, with no overheating.

I have only a couple of minor negative comments:

1. The instruction leaflet says the warranty is six months, while the Amazon product description says one year. I’m guessing that one year is correct, since that’s typical for electronic devices.

2. The instruction leaflet says simply that both ports provide 4.8-5.3 volts at 2.1 amperes (the device itself is labeled 5.1V/2.1A). The Amazon product description appears to imply that one of the ports provides 0.5-1.0A (for Apple products), with the other port providing 1.0-2.0A (for non-Apple products). As a practical matter, I doubt if it matters which port you use, but if the ports have different outputs, it would affect the recharging time.

Overall, I was very pleased with the product, and having two ports on the charger is a very nice feature that will come in handy for both travel and home use.

The cord is a little shorter than my previous charger, but it get’s the job done. It charges, but shorter cord is the only reason for less than 4 stars.
